Shukar Sugar is led by Raina Mehta, a formally trained pastry chef whose work is rooted in technique, restraint and respect for flavour.

Meet The Founder

Raina Mehta

Early influences from food icons such as Nigella Lawson, Anthony Bourdain and Raymond Blanc shaped her view of food as both craft and culture. A cup of hot chocolate in Paris later became the quiet moment that confirmed pastry was not just an interest, but a vocation.

 

Raina trained in Baking and Pastry Arts in Mumbai and in London with The City & Guilds of London Institute, graduating at the top of her class. She has since co-founded and built two dessert brands across India and Dubai, with a strong focus on gluten-free, vegan and sugar-free baking.

 

Based in Dubai, Shukar Sugar reflects a thoughtful, disciplined approach to modern dessert-making, where inclusive recipes and consistency guide every creation.
